Dear Colleagues,
Many states where we operate still are struggling to contain the spread of COVID-19, with some experiencing new highs in the number of cases and hospitalizations.
At Exelon, we’ve seen cases of the virus jump, and while I know we all are tired of dealing with the pandemic, we must remain diligent in practicing all the measures necessary to contain the spread of the virus.
We have been successful in continuing to provide our essential services to our customers and communities in our current state. Therefore, we are postponing the start date for Phase 1 of the Responsible Re-entry plan until at least January of 2021. We will make another call no later than the end of November about when we expect to begin Phase 1 of re-entry.
As we have been doing all along, some employees may need to return to a company location for specific reasons, such as on-site training, refueling outages, project management activities and operational functions, etc. Our facilities are open, safe and will continue to be, as a small number of employees return.
If you will be returning to a work location for any reason prior to the start of Phase 1, you and your manager will discuss the need and any necessary precautions. If you have any questions or concerns, you can discuss them with your manager at that time.
Although the timing of Phase 1 has been delayed, work continues to ensure a safe and smooth return for larger numbers of employees when the time comes. In addition, a Workplace of the Future team has begun to look at what our workplace could look like once we get to Phase 3 (as a reminder, Phase 3 will start when the virus poses a low threat, either because immunity is achieved or a vaccine or effective treatment is widely available).
As these challenging days continue, I encourage you to rededicate yourselves – to the safety measures necessary to protect yourselves, your colleagues and your families, and to the commitment to excellence that has enabled us to continue to fulfill our critical role in the lives of our customers and communities. Thank you for everything you are doing – no matter where you work.
Stay safe and stay healthy,
Bridget
