However, if you plan to travel to an international location, don’t plan to perform work while away. Exelon companies are US-based, with very limited international operations, so working remotely from outside the US is generally prohibited due to tax, visa and payroll implications. Any work performed while you are on vacation or on leave outside the US must be intermittent in nature and for a limited period.
When planning international travel, do contact travelsafely@exeloncorp.com prior to your departure in order to verify remote access and device restrictions for your foreign travel destination(s). And don’t forget: based on current CDC guidance, non-remote employees who travel internationally for personal reasons will be subject to quarantine upon return to the U.S. and will not be eligible for COVID-19 pay continuation during that time.
Tying a Bow on Teams
The Microsoft Teams migration will wrap up this week. This new platform changes the way we communicate, connect and collaborate and will continue to be updated and enhanced. As you continue to use teams, do review the retention policies for chats (90 days), channel posts (five years) and files (no deletion date).
When joining a meeting, don’t use the Call Me Back function, which costs extra. Review this document for preferred ways to join Teams meetings.
Do check out the new Teams Meeting experience, featuring pop-out meetings and a docked toolbar. Click on your profile picture in Teams and click “Check for Updates.” Then, click your profile picture again, select “Settings” and check the box for “Turn on new meeting experience.” If you don’t see the option today, don’t worry, it’s on its way. Don’t forget to join the Teams Yammer community to learn about the latest Teams updates.
Conduct Your Access Review
As we talked about in last week’s Dos and Don’ts, it’s a good time to conduct an access review in the Access Governance System. And now we have a job aid! Do ask your supervisor if you’re not sure you still need an access level. Don’t keep physical access levels you no longer need. Do review your other roles and entitlements to find and remove other access privileges you no longer need.
Rest assured that Exelon is doing all we can to keep you and families, as well as our customers and communities, healthy and well during this difficult time. We encourage you to check the Exelon Coronavirus Information Center frequently for more important information and updates.
