Today’s Dos and Don’ts feature a reminder on civil discourse, additional information on vaccines and prioritization, and more.
Live Our Values in Your Discussions and on Social Media
Recent events have stirred strong emotions about our democracy, our elections and our leadership. No matter your political views, being civil – in your personal discussions, on social media and any time you communicate – is a critical tenet of our values and Code of Conduct. Here are some key Dos and Don’ts from our new social media policy, which can apply to almost any conversation:
Vaccine Update and More Answers
Now that the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines have been approved by the FDA, although moving more slowly than anticipated, roll-out to stage 1a recipients -- healthcare workers and long-term care residents -- is underway in all states, with some states also having started vaccinating elderly and those with underlying health conditions. Two other vaccines from Johnson & Johnson and Astra Zeneca also may be approved early this year.
Exelon continues to work with state and county governments to understand vaccine administration timelines and to advocate for our control room and field employees to be included in an early stage of distribution. While that may vary by location, our hope is that our employees can be vaccinated in a high- priority category, given the important role they play in powering our communities. We’ve identified each control room and field employee by county and as soon as vaccines are available, we will be communicating further details about when and where to get vaccinated.
State and local governments have indicated that field employees should be identified for prioritization and remote-enable employees should be vaccinated when the vaccine is distributed to the general public, which we expect to be later this spring or summer.
In the meantime, we’ve shared some vaccine FAQs on the Vax Scene webpage, including information about new virus strains and safety of the vaccine development timeline. For all this and more, visit the new Vax Scene webpage (available on any desktop or mobile device).
