Dear Colleagues,
We are one year into the pandemic and, unfortunately, new COVID variants are appearing, and positive rates and hospitalizations remain higher than we believe are safe. At the same time, the vaccine roll-out is somewhat slower than we hoped.
We continue to put the safety of all employees – both those reporting to our work locations and remote-enabled – at the forefront of our considerations. We have specific metrics to guide our decision and since the thresholds haven’t yet been met, we’ve decided that Phase 1 of Responsible Re-entry will not begin until at least September 7.
While our offices and facilities continue to be safe for employees who must report to work at those locations (as long as PPE is worn, social distancing is maintained and other precautions are taken), it doesn’t yet make sense to begin bringing more employees back into our offices at this time. We’ll plan to provide another update on our re-entry timeline in July.
It’s been a year since the pandemic significantly changed all our lives and required us to dramatically alter our work practices and locations. It’s because of the dedication of all our employees that our company has continued on its path of excellence during such a difficult time. Thank you for your continued focus on safety, productivity and teamwork during this unusual time.
Unfortunately, it’s not over yet, and it’s critical that we continue to follow the same PPE, social distancing and other safety protocols necessary to avoid spreading the virus.
At the same time, I know the pandemic requires many of you to juggle even more than usual – virtual schooling, caring for family members and more – while maintaining your dedication to your jobs. All of your efforts have been remarkable and a testament to your professionalism and commitment. Please continue to take care of yourselves and check in with your teams and colleagues regularly to support and encourage each other.
We all want the pandemic to be over, and the best way to do that is for all of us to get vaccinated as soon as possible, especially as more supplies become available. The company continues to work with states and local municipalities to offer vaccines to our employees when opportunities arise, as well as advocating for our workers to be prioritized for inoculation.
If you need more information about where to register for vaccines, report that you’ve been vaccinated, change your survey response or have vaccine-related questions, please go to the dedicated Vax Scene site (https://content.exeloncorp.com/vax-scene), available on any internet-enabled device.
Thank you again for everything you’re doing to support our company, our communities and each other. The end of this pandemic is getting nearer – let’s stay focused on safety until we cross the finish line.
Best,
Chris
